Health & Fitness Expo

Packet Pick-up

Pick up your race number, ChronoTrack timing device, T-shirt and goodie bag at the Health & Fitness Expo before the race. The Expo will be held at Qwest Event Center and will be free and open to the public.

Runners must show photo ID to pick up their race number and timing device. Each participant must pick up his/her own race number and timing device - family members and friends will not be permitted to pick up packets on another participant’s behalf. Packets will not be mailed.

Start Line Village

At the Start Line Village located at Foster Golf Links in Tukwila, you will find refreshments, sports drink, water, medical support and the Official Gear Check.

Gear Check

Before you enter your corral, drop-off your pre-race/post-race clothing and belongings at the Gear Check. While you run, your gear will be transported from the start to finish line.

Each participant will receive a goodie bag and label at the Health & Fitness Expo. Goodie bags will serve as your gear bag on race day; gear labels will be attached to your race number.
Gear Check will be clearly marked and positioned at the Start Line Village on race morning. Look for the trucks that will be arranged alphabetically and by truck number.

Attach your gear tag to your gear bag before you leave it at Gear Check. At the finish line the Gear Pick-up station will be located outside of the finish line secure zones. Bags must be claimed by 3 pm on race day. DO NOT leave valuables, cash or jewelry in your gear bag; the event is not responsible for any lost items.

We'll Get you Off to a Smooth Start!

Start Line Corrals

The start line corral system allows for a smooth race start for participants of varying levels.

Based on the estimated finish time that you provided on your race entry form, you are assigned a race number and corresponding corral, with other participants of similar running pace.

When you pick up your race number at the Health & Fitness Expo, check your corral assignment. If you believe that you have been assigned to the wrong corral, bring your race number to the Corral Change table in the registration area at the Expo.

There will be NO corral changes on race morning.

ChronoTrack Timing System

State of the art ChronoTrack systems will be used to record participants’ times at the start, at certain splits along the courses and at the finish. The ChronoTrack system uses a disposable tag, called a D Tag, which allows you to walk away from the finish without the need to have your tag collected.

Prior to the race, you must remove the tag from your number and attach it to your shoe. Please follow the instructions provided in your registration packet.

Please note: All participants in this race must wear the ChronoTrack timing tag on their shoe in order to have their times recorded. ChampionChip timing equipment will NOT be used at this race; ChampionChip timing chips will NOT record your time.

*If you register for the race before online registration closes (midnight, June 21, 2009), your race number should have your name printed on it.

Visit chronotrack.com for more information.

  • Any items found at the start or finish should be turned in to the Information Booth and can be retrieved at the finish.
  • Any valuables turned in from the start will be transported to the finish.

The spectators were to die for. I can't believe how many San Diegans turned out for this event. There were large groups of cheerleaders every mile or so, and then spectators lining the whole course (even the highway overpasses), many of them offering snacks and libation along with encouragement.
